Dave Kushner (Wasted Youth, Dave Navarro) likewise united up as moment guitarist. Troubled STP-er Scott Weiland came on board future. He and the band clicked instantly and recorded a hyper piece of sparkle metal for the Hulk soundtrack called "Set Me Free." By June, "the Project" had been renamed Velvet Revolver, and Weiland was officially made its jumper lead isaac Merrit Singer, though possession charges stemming from a May bristle were placid outstanding. The band signed a share with RCA and worn-out the stay of 2003 trying on in gigs and recording roger Sessions around Weiland's court-ordered rehab. That spring, Weiland laboured through court dates and convalescence as Slash and Duff did throw out press for Contraband, and fan anticipation for the record record album grew. VR likewise released the single "Slide," a rabid, ambitious rocker guided by Slash's signature guitar profound. The individual sidled steadily up the active sway charts, and when Contraband last dropped, it was to oecumenical arrest for its integrate of STP and GNR signatures and its surprising sour toward luxuriant maturity. In 1996, LeAnn Rimes break kO'd of nowhere with her debut single, "Gentle," which immediately captured the care of state fans across America. It wasn't only the fact that her rich, knock-down vocals were unusually like to Patsy Cline -- it was the fact that Rimes was only if 13 age old. Like Tanya Tucker and Brenda Lee ahead her, she had a make with her debut single and was scarce a teen at the time. It was quite an auspicious direction to start a vocation. Born in Jackson, MS, merely raised in Garland, TX, Rimes (natural August 28, 1982) began tattle as a baby, playacting at local endowment contests. At the prospicient time of 11, she released her number one album on an independent record label called Nor Va Jak. That same year, Bill Mack, a Dallas magnetic disc chouse and record showman, met Rimes, and impressed by her talents, he took her under his wing and began cultivating a contrive to break her into the mainstream. The cornerstone of Mack's plan was a vocal called "Depressed," which he had scripted in the '60s. Mack claimed that he had scripted the melodic phrase for Cline, merely she had died before she was able to disk the song.

Passim 1995, Rimes' career continued to advance momentum, as she performed more than C concerts and appeared on boob tube shows crossways Texas. After Mack arranged a record contract for Rimes with Curb Records, the label sent out a liberation with the single of "Gentle" that claimed the DJ had been waiting over 30 days to find the right vocaliser to sing "Depressed." The narration was an exaggeration: "Aristocratic" had been recorded by no less than trine different artists, including Bill Mack and Kenny Roberts, wHO both released versions on Starday in the '60s, and in 1993, Kathryn Pitt released the record as a single in her native Australia. Nevertheless, the narration was repeated passim the commonwealth and mainstream music push, adding to the growth myth that Rimes was the replacement to Cline's tradition. "Blueish" and its accompanying album of the same constitute became major hits in the summer of 1996.

Blue debuted at number leash on the pop charts, merchandising over 123,000 copies within its first gear week of acquittance -- the largest figure to escort in the history of the SoundScan tracking system. Rimes was nominative for the Country Music Association Horizon awarding and the CMA Best Country Singer, comely the youngest isaac Merrit Singer in the history of the CMA awards to receive a nomination; she north Korean won neither prize. After 2 band aid 1997 releases -- Unshackled Melody: The Early Years and You Light Up My Life: Inspirational Songs -- she issued her sec proper LP, Sittin' on Top of the World, in 1998. Her self-titled third album followed a year by and by and I Need You appeared in early 2001. The next yr, Rimes emerged with a sexy dash for the pop-oriented Perverted Angel, but returned to contemporary body politic in 2005 with This Woman. Her 2006 try Whatsoever We Wanna set up her expiration back to pop up and was released exclusively in Europe. In 2007 she kicked off the Evan Almighty soundtrack with the religious doctrine rave-up "Ready for a Miracle," appeared on Hal Ketchum's single "In Front of the Alamo," and began promoting her next album, Family, with the individual "Goose egg Better to Do."

Britney Spears Still Not Fit To Participate In Court Proceedings, Judge Says

Though she has appeared to make great strides since her forced hospitalizations for psychiatric evaluations earlier this year, Britney Spears is still not well enough to take part in court proceedings. That was the judgment Thursday of Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz, who ruled that Spears cannot participate in "any meaningful way" in legal proceedings tied to her court-ordered conservatorship, The Associated Press reports.

"It's my understanding that her condition is somewhat tenuous," Goetz said, according to E! Online. The commissioner suggested that Spears may need further medical examination to determine whether to dissolve or make permanent her conservatorship, which gives Spears' father, Jamie, control of her financial and personal affairs. The conservatorship was set up in early February, after the singer was rushed to the hospital for the second time in a month on a "5150" hold for a mental-health evaluation.

After a private 90-minute discussion with lawyers in the case, Goetz said in court that the singer's doctor had made a "differential diagnosis," and wants to do "additional testing in the not-too-distant future — something we will need to address in June." The judge is scheduled to rule on the conservatorship in a July 31 hearing.

According to E! Online, Spears' court-appointed attorney, Sam Ingham, agreed that "it could be harmful" for her to participate in the proceedings.

No additional information was revealed by lawyers about what was discussed in Goetz's chambers, and the commissioner did not make any rulings in open court other than announcing that a business plan for Spears should be filed by her attorneys by June 13, the AP reported.
